First, to sterilize the soil in the bamboo shoot field, apply fertilizer and use 16% antibacterial nets. For a 15-mu area, mix 2 sachets of the solution with 30 kilograms of water and spray it on the surface of the asparagus. Apply 1 kilogram of underground bio-pesticides along with "Green Generals" for soil sterilization. Then spread 10-15 kilograms of pesticide across the soil. When preparing the soil, cover the ridge surface with pesticides and fungicides, and cultivate to a depth of 12-15 cm from the top of the stalk to the stem plate. Add 3-5 parts of decomposed organic fertilizer or 2-3 pieces of roasted chicken manure per mu. Also, add 25 kg of asparagus-specific fertilizer and 2 kg of biological potassium. Mix the soil thoroughly to a depth of 10-12 cm while watering. Be sure the manure is finely crushed and evenly mixed. Avoid deep mixing to prevent root burn.
Second, for planting management, nursery seedlings should be planted between February 15-25. If planting after July 20, 2007, it's best to do so in early May. Dig trenches 30-40 cm deep and 40-50 cm wide, spacing them 3-5 meters apart. Add 2-3 meters of chicken dung and 25 kg of compound fertilizer, along with 2 kg of biological potassium. Mix 1 kg of "Green General" bio-insecticide with 10-15 kg of soil. Ensure even mixing of soil, fertilizer, and medicine in the trench, and level the bottom. The trench should be about 10-12 cm lower than the original ground level. Before planting, spray 2 bags of fungicide in 30 kg of water over the soil. Use a planting pattern of 1.3 meters between rows and 25 cm between plants, resulting in approximately 2000 plants per acre. Pay attention to the orientation when planting—dig small pits 3-5 cm deep at the bottom of the trench and cover them with soil. Water immediately after planting, and maintain a 1-2 cm layer of soil for moisture retention. Regularly inspect the seedlings and replace any that are missing. After rainfall, apply preventive treatments to avoid diseases. Once the seedlings reach 30 cm in height, mound 3-5 cm of soil around the base. In mid-May, apply 15-25 kg of specialized asparagus fertilizer per acre.
Third, spring harvesting begins before the end of June 2007. By fall, the plant height should range between 1 meter and 1.5 meters, with 7-10 rhizomes. Spring harvesting can continue until May 10-20. Stems are planted between May 10-20 and then again after July 2007. Plants reaching 1 meter in height with 5 roots are ready for release between April 25 and May 5. The planting schedule for plants before 2006 depends on the growth condition and disease status of the asparagus. If the growth is good and disease is minimal, planting can continue until June 20. If the growth is weak or there are signs of disease, planting should be completed by May 20. Proper timing ensures healthy development and maximizes yield.
