Asparagus Spring Management Technology

First, to sterilize the soil in the bamboo shoot field, apply fertilizer and use 16% antibacterial nets. For 15 mu (approximately 2 sachets), mix 30 kg of water with the net, then spray the surface of the asparagus with a ground sterilizer. Add 1 kg of underground bio-pesticides along with "Green Generals." Spread 10-15 kg of pesticide to treat the soil. When preparing the soil, cover all the ridge surfaces with pesticides and fungicides, and till the soil to a depth of 12-15 cm from the top of the stalk down to the stem plate. Add 3-5 parts of well-decomposed organic fertilizer or 2-3 pieces of roasted chicken manure per mus. Mix in 25 kg of asparagus-specific fertilizer and 2 kg of biological potassium, then thoroughly mix the soil to a depth of 10-12 cm while watering. It is important to ensure that the manure is finely crushed and evenly mixed. Avoid making the soil too deep to prevent root burn.

Second, for planting management, nursery plants should be planted between February 15-25, while seedlings can be planted after July 20, ideally in early May. Dig trenches that are 30-40 cm deep and 40-50 cm wide, spacing them 3-5 m apart. Add 3-5 m of rotted chicken manure, 25 kg of compound fertilizer, and 2 kg of biological potassium. Mix 1 kg of "Green Generals" bio-insecticide with 10-15 kg of soil. Evenly blend the soil, fertilizer, and medicine in the trench, and level the bottom. The bottom of the trench should be 10-10 cm lower than the original ground level. Before planting, spray 2 bags of fungicide mixed with 30 kg of water on the soil. Use an early high-yield planting pattern with a row spacing of 1.3 meters and 25 cm between plants, resulting in about 2000 plants per acre. Pay attention to the orientation when planting—dig small pits 3-5 cm deep at the bottom of the trenches and cover them with soil. Water promptly after planting, and maintain a 1-2 cm layer of soil to protect the roots. Regularly inspect the seedlings, replace any missing ones, and spray to prevent diseases after rain. When the seedlings reach 30 cm in height, mound 3-5 cm of soil around them. In mid-May, apply 15-25 kg of specialized asparagus fertilizer per acre.

Third, spring harvesting should begin before the end of June 2007. After the fall, the plant height should be between 1 and 1.5 meters, with 7-10 rhizomes. Spring harvesting can continue until May 10-20. Stems can be planted from May 10-20, and planting after July 2007 should follow. Plants that reach a height of 1 meter with 5 stems should be harvested between April 25 and May 5. The planting schedule before 2006 depends on the growth condition and disease status of the asparagus. If the growth is good and the disease is light, planting can continue until June 20. If the growth is weak or there are signs of disease, it's best to plant by May 20 to allow recovery.
