"Pilling method" has many benefits for pigs

Farmers have traditionally raised pigs using a "hanging rack" method, where they initially feed large amounts of green and roughage. Once the pigs reach 50-60 kilograms, they are quickly switched to high-energy concentrate feed to fatten them up. This approach often leads to significant waste of concentrated feed. Some farmers use a "one-stop" feeding method, where they provide concentrates from the time the piglets are born until slaughter. While this reduces the number of days required for raising, it still doesn't make full use of green and roughage feeds. The "pump-feeding" method offers a more efficient alternative. Compared to the traditional "hanging rack" and "one-stop" methods, it can save 30% and 10% in concentrate feed respectively, while also improving the lean meat ratio in pigs. The process involves feeding mainly high-energy, high-protein concentrates with additives before the pigs reach 50-60 kg, with only a small amount of green feed and no roughage. From 50-60 kg up to slaughter, the diet consists of 62% concentrate, 26% green feed, and 12% roughage. The scientific basis for this method is that pigs require more protein and minerals during the growing phase. Using concentrates to meet these nutritional needs helps them reach the target weight faster and more efficiently. This approach not only improves feed utilization but also enhances overall productivity and meat quality. It's a practical and sustainable way to raise pigs, especially in areas where feed resources are limited or costly.
