To manage this issue, it's important to disinfect the soil before planting. Applying 2 to 3 kg of borax per acre as a basal fertilizer can help prevent the deficiency. During the growing season, spraying a 0.2% borax solution can also be effective in maintaining adequate boron levels. If the disease has already developed, applying a 50% dithane (mancozeb) solution or streptomycin at a concentration of 2 to 3 times can help control the spread. Regular monitoring and timely intervention are crucial for effective disease management. It’s also recommended to ensure proper drainage and avoid overwatering, as excess moisture can worsen the condition. Farmers should practice crop rotation and maintain good field hygiene to reduce the risk of future outbreaks.
