“Among the keys to emotional well-being is losing oneself in something larger than oneself.†~ Donald Miller
Recently, I came across this quote and immediately resonated with its essence. It struck me how true it was for us as individuals and families. Engaging in acts of service—no matter how small—allows us to transcend our personal concerns and contribute meaningfully to something far greater. When my family joined hands with countless others in our community to package 1,850,400 meals for hungry children nationwide through Feeding Children Everywhere, I realized just how powerful collective action can be. People coming together, offering their time and energy, stepping forward when called upon—it’s nothing short of inspiring. The desire to serve, the urge to give—it resides within all of us. Perhaps for some, it has merely faded into the background, waiting to be rediscovered. But it’s always there, ready to be activated through simple gestures: a kind word, a random act of kindness, or even a smile shared with a stranger.
Today, let’s commit to flexing those altruistic muscles a little more. Let’s take a moment to connect with others, whether near or far, and remind ourselves of the beauty of humanity. After all, each of us possesses immense value—not just for ourselves, but for the world around us.
And here’s another thought: YOU are truly incredible! Your presence matters, your actions ripple outward, and your compassion helps create waves of change. So go ahead, dive in, and let’s make today count—for ourselves and for those who need a helping hand.
