Causes of yellowing of fruit trees and methods of treatment

Yellowing disease is a common issue in fruit trees, characterized by the yellowing or even whitening of leaves due to the disruption of chlorophyll synthesis. This condition is prevalent in apple-growing regions within the Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province and also affects other fruit trees such as peaches, apricots, and plums. In 2003–2004, the outbreak of yellowing disease significantly impacted fruit quality, leading to poor taste, low sugar content, reduced hardness, and poor storage stability. This had a major effect on farmers’ income and their motivation to continue farming. To address this problem, growers tried various methods like foliar sprays, irrigation, and hanging bottles, but these efforts yielded limited success. Our company has conducted extensive research on the causes and possible corrections for yellowing disease. We are now sharing our findings and hoping to exchange insights with agricultural professionals. The occurrence of yellowing disease can be attributed to root or leaf damage, pathogen infection, or disorders in chlorophyll synthesis. We collected soil samples from multiple orchards and greenhouses in the Guanzhong region during three critical growth stages—dormancy, fruit setting, and fruit expansion. Comparisons were made with soil samples from healthy orchards to analyze key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, organic matter, and trace elements such as iron, boron, zinc, and manganese. Analysis revealed that most cases of yellowing disease result from either an absolute deficiency or a relative imbalance of certain nutrients. The first type occurs when the soil lacks essential nutrients, especially trace elements, which are often overlooked in favor of large-scale fertilizers. Over time, this leads to nutrient depletion and poor crop health. The second type involves relative nutrient deficiencies, where the soil contains sufficient nutrients, but factors like soil pH, texture, or competition among elements prevent proper absorption by the plants. For example, excessive phosphate application can cause iron, magnesium, and manganese to become insoluble, making them unavailable to crops. A case study in Yangling showed that reducing phosphate use led to a significant improvement in tree health. Other factors include nutrient fixation, where elements bind to soil particles and become inaccessible; nutrient hysteresis, where movement through the soil is slow; and competition, where high levels of one element interfere with the uptake of another. Ultimately, yellowing disease results from long-term imbalances caused by improper fertilizer use. Correcting it requires a step-by-step, systematic approach that addresses both symptoms and underlying causes. It’s essential to balance fertilization, monitor soil conditions, and provide targeted supplements to restore nutritional balance. We believe that sustainable agricultural practices, including rational and balanced fertilization, are key to preventing future outbreaks. By focusing on long-term soil health and plant nutrition, we can achieve better yields and healthier crops over time. Yangling Taide Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. Website: [Insert Website URL]

Monobenzone

Monobenzone can decompose melanin in the skin, and prevent the formation of melanin in the skin, used for the treatment of hyperpigmentation, such as various spots, age spots, melanoma. In addition as intermediates in organic synthesis.

Function:

1.Monobenzone is a compound used as a topical drug for medical depigmentation.

2.The topical application of monobenzone powder in animals decreases the excretion of melanin from melanocytes. The same action is thought to be responsible for the depigmenting effect of the drug in humans.

3.Monobenzone may cause destruction of melanocytes and permanent depigmentation.

4.The histology of the skin after depigmentation with topical monobenzone powder is the same as that seen in vitiligo.

5.The epidermis is normal except for the absence of identifiable melanocytes.
