The view in our house is growing larger and larger, just like the time we’ve spent here is slipping away faster than expected. Our walls, once filled with personal touches, are now reverting to that bare, unclaimed state they once had. We're driving home on a dark stretch of road right now, two sleepy littles filling the backseat with their synchronized breathing patterns—one inhales while the other exhales. Chris is flipping through the radio stations, leaning toward some "old-school" tunes as Pandora takes a back seat during this late-night drive. Maybe that station-scan will help ward off any feelings of déjà vu since we've been doing a lot of these late-night trips with sleeping kids lately. Our days are packed full, sweet moments mixed in with the chaos, creating something that, when combined, feels surprisingly fulfilling.
It feels like we've been packing forever—and in a way, we have. Life has picked up speed, leaving us scrambling instead of taking the time to thoughtfully pack away our belongings. Whenever we manage to squeeze in a few hours at home, we just keep adding more boxes to the growing pile. Morning or evening, naptime or playtime, there’s always something else to box up. Eventually, our house becomes a veritable maze of cardboard towers.
The packing, the working, the planning, the sorting, the cleaning—it may not be easy, but it's definitely going to be worth it.
