China needs to develop rice mechanized planting techniques based on organic rice transplanting to achieve full mechanization of rice production. The traditional rice transplanter adopts the technique of paddy rice seedling transplanting, mainly introduced from Japan and South Korea, which is incompatible with the rice varieties and seasons in China, and has large seeding rate, poor quality of seedlings, low elasticity of young seedlings, and serious root damage and leakage of wounds. The problems of high alfalfa rate, non-uniform seedlings per plant, and slow returning to greens cannot fully exploit rice production potential. The technology of paddy rice seedling-shaped blanket seedlings introduced by the China Rice Research Institute was developed for the problems existing in traditional carpet-like seedling transplanting. This technology is suitable for the characteristics of rice production in China and improves the technological level of transplanting in China.
