Why the stalks of cotton seedlings are not long

One, the main reason

1. Herbicide damage. There are two types of drug injury: one is a variety of old cotton fields, due to the use of trifluralin for many years and the use of large amounts, resulting in plant stem stalk thin, dwarf, red stem ratio accounts for more than 90%. When the plant was unplugged, the main root was undeveloped, and there were few or no lateral roots. A tumor appeared on the base of the stem near the ground. When the plant was pulled out, it was easily broken at the tumor. There was no vascular bundle discoloration or other changes in the stem. The other category is the dumping ground for cotton in the first year. The former crop is corn. In recent years, the use of a combine harvester to harvest wheat has resulted in a high wheat stubble in the field. Farmers have used a closed field herbicide, Ethylene Mixture or Ding A Mixture, to increase weed control efficacy. Fear of poor herbicidal effect, farmers cherish water without hesitation, and artificially increase the amount of herbicide, the amount of light loam soil should be between 150 to 200 milliliters, but farmers have increased to 300 ~ 350 ml/mu, many up to 400 milliliters /mu. After many years of continuous use, herbicides are left in the field, and many times in summer, relatively large precipitation, so that field herbicides accumulate in the low-lying areas along with the flow of water, manifesting as a piece of high-lying cotton fields growing steadily and healthy, with plants as high as 40-50. In centimeters, low-lying areas or low-lying areas, the plants are short and thin and appear red stem cotton.

2. Caused by diseases. Individual distributors exaggerated the characteristics of varieties and misled farmers into buying seeds. Farmers purchased seeds with poor or no disease resistance in the old cotton fields where the incidence was heavy, causing low-lying and low-lying plots to suffer from low temperature and heavy seedling diseases. Weak, two large rainfalls in the middle of June induced wilt disease. The fields were purple type and shrunk type, both of which showed short stature and slow or short growth. Cut stems, brown vascular bundles, is a typical symptom of blight.

3. Salt and alkali damage. Due to the long-term use of chemical fertilizers, some plots do not use organic fertilizers, resulting in salinization or secondary salinization of soils. They encountered several small rains (precipitation below 20 mm) in early June causing salt to shift upwards, resulting in high salt concentrations. The absorption of nutrients by the root system was inhibited, salt damage was observed, and the plant growth was slow and small. The proportion of red stems was significantly higher, and the vegetative growth was significantly delayed compared with other plots.

4. Caused by burning seedlings. The former crop is the dumping ground for growing corn. Due to the large amount of corn straw, only the diammonium phosphate, potash fertilizer or controlled release fertilizer is applied to the base fertilizer, and no quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer is applied. As the temperature rises and rainwater increases, straw rot and cotton seedlings compete for fertilizer to cause cotton seedlings to grow thin or not. When the roots of individual plants were plunged into the straw, they also showed poor growth and no lateral roots. Dwarf plants and small, thin, leaf-like fertilizers appeared.

Second, prevention and control measures

1. For cotton fields that have been seriously affected by continuous cropping for many years. In the next year, crops such as grasses or legumes can be successfully cropped.

2. For the dwarf plants that have already been attacked, apply a biased tube and spray chitin or Greenhenge No. 3 fungicide with high-quality leaf surface fertilizers containing more than 50% nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to spray the roots. Spray, consolidate once every 5 to 7 days.

3. For cotton fields that use trifluralin for several years, acetochlor or a herbicide on the membrane can be used when growing cotton next year. The use of trifluralin in the first year strictly determines the amount of soil according to soil conditions. The amount of mu for light loam or sandy loam does not exceed 125 ml, and the amount of heavier earth or clay for mu does not exceed 150 ml. Neither spray nor re-spray can be used. . For the corn field, the herbicide dosage should be strictly controlled: the general land use volume should not exceed 150 to 200 ml, the water use should not be less than 30 kg, and low concentration and high coverage should be adopted.

4. The phenomenon of “burning seedlings” due to large amount of straw should be immediately watered, and topdressing urea 12.5 to 15 kg/mu in combination with watering.

5. The salinization or secondary salinization of soil is improved by adding organic fertilizer for several consecutive years. Once there is a phenomenon of "collapse of salt" in small waters, salt pressure shall be immediately reduced by using fresh water to cast salt.

6. For plant growth caused by herbicide damage, immediately spray 920 or Shuofeng 481 to add high-quality foliar fertilizer to ease, conditional but also timely watering, base fertilizer deficiency or de-fertilization symptoms, combined with water chase Application of urea 7.5 ~ 10 kg, promote plant growth as soon as possible.

7. Uneven plant growth in the field, tall plants really need to spray shrinkage security control, should be selected large tree control, small trees, disease strains and herbicides harming strains must not be controlled.
