Eggplant Grafting Tomato Technology

Vegetable grafting can breed new varieties of vegetables to cater to the needs of consumers. Eggplant grafted tomato is one of them. 1. Grafting time varies depending on the nature, species, and species of the plants, and the climate, grafting methods, and methods used in each place. The selection of grafting time cannot be achieved by the same method. In the case of tomato grafting, the past was generally conducted in April, but according to the development and progress of cultivation techniques, it is now possible to grow seedlings throughout the year, so grafted tomatoes have no fixed time. The grafting time should be determined by the growth of the seedlings, scion and scion as soon as possible. That is, rootstock (after planting) and scion (after seedling) grow to be grafted as thick as chopsticks. Grafting in open-air cultivation should be conducted after 4 o'clock in the afternoon on cloudy days and without rain (greenhouse grafting is not subject to this restriction). The return to seedlings is quick and the survival rate is high. 2. Grafting method using litchi method. That is, first cut the head about 6 cm away from the ground, then cut vertically in the middle of the cross-section of the rootstock with a cutting knife. The incision is about 3 cm long, and then a scion (4- 5 cm long) is cut to cut the lower end of the rootstock. After forming wedges (length and length are equivalent to stock cuts), immediately insert the stocks that have been split open. When they are inserted, both forming layers (a layer of cells between the phloem and the xylem) must be in close contact if the scion is fine ( Can not be thicker than the rootstock, must make the scion lean on the side of the anvil incision, so that the formation of layers on both sides of the close alignment, and finally with a wicker nose twist (slightly longer than the incision) can be put on. 3. For other varieties, root stocks with developed root systems should be selected; scion varieties can be selected based on the purpose (precocious or high yield) and time of cultivation. Generally, purple eggplant is used as the rootstock, and strong tomato is used as the grafting of the scion. The growth period is long and the yield is high. Management after grafting is the same as that of normal tomatoes.
