Xinjiang Internet News reporter learned from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention on February 19th that experts conducted gene sequencing analysis of two human H7N9 strains of bird flu virus isolated from Guangdong Province in January this year and found the hemagglutinin linker peptide of the virus. A gene insertion mutation occurred in the position, suggesting that the virus was mutated to avian highly pathogenic virus, but there was no mutation in human infectious, virulence and interpersonal transmission. The results have been reviewed and confirmed by the National Influenza Center of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and notified to the World Health Organization.
According to experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in January 2017, the Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention conducted a gene sequencing analysis on two human cases of human H7N9-infected virus and discovered the mutation. The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention organized expert judgments and communicated with relevant experts in the agricultural sector and concluded that the H7N9 virus had gene insertion mutations in the hemagglutinin linker peptide, suggesting that the virus has been mutated to avian highly pathogenic virus; however, according to the virus As a result of the sequence analysis, there have been no mutations in human infection, virulence, and interpersonal transmission.
Both cases had a history of bird exposure before the onset of the disease, and poultry mortality occurred successively in the exposed birds. At present, one case has been cured and another case is still being treated. All 105 close contacts of the two cases had medical observations for two weeks without symptoms such as fever and cough.
It is reported that the H7N9 virus is an influenza A virus. One of its main characteristics is that it is prone to gene reassortment and mutation. Some mutations may lead to the increase of the virus's infectivity, virulence, and interpersonal transmission. Therefore, the problem of virus mutation has been receiving widespread attention at home and abroad.
It is understood that laboratories in the agricultural sector have also found similar mutations in 4 poultry specimens from Guangdong. The Health and Family Planning System will work with the agricultural sector to conduct in-depth studies on the origin and scope of the mutated virus, and continue to strengthen the monitoring of the H7N9 virus to detect any possible variations in time.
