Nearly half of the wines in Guangdong failed to add artificial colors

The Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce announced yesterday the sampling results of the wine quality in circulation in the third quarter of this year. Foreign wine "imitation ocean" phenomenon is more serious

In the third quarter of 2011, the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce entrusted the Guangdong Provincial Liquor Testing Center to carry out supervision and spot checks on the alcoholic beverage market in circulation in the province. A total of 50 batches of alcoholic products such as white wine, wine, dewy wine, and brandy (domestic) were sampled.

Among them, the sampling rate of 100% of white wine; dew 90%; brandy (domestic) quality to be improved; wine quality is poor, the passing rate is only 53.3%.

The person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce said that brandy (domestic) and other wines need to be enhanced in quality control. At present, the domestic production of foreign wine is divided into two production methods, one is the domestic brandy production enterprises, the other is brandy, whisky, vodka and other domestic wine production enterprises. The sampling qualification rate was 70%, and the sampling qualification rate after rejecting the unqualified labels was 80%. This indicates that the manufacturers do not pay enough attention to the product labels and the “imitation ocean” phenomenon is serious.

Some companies illegally add rouge

The pass rate of wine sampling was 53.3%, and the pass rate after the rejection of the unqualified label was 73.3%. This shows that some small and medium-sized wine production enterprises still have some problems, and they must further strengthen supervision. The unsatisfactory items for this sampling inspection are label, alcohol content, total sugar, dry extract, amaranth, carmine, sodium saccharin, and sodium cyclamate, which are mainly SME products.

It is reported that there are five batches of wine product labeling does not meet the standard requirements in this sampling inspection; there are three batches of liquor product alcohol content and labeling of the degree of alcohol does not match.

In addition, 2 batches of products were also added to amaranth and/or carmine.

The relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce told the reporter that in accordance with national standards, no artificially-synthesized pigments may be added to the wine during the brewing process, mainly including lemon yellow, amaranth, carmine, bright blue and sunset yellow. However, some companies artificially add these synthetic colors during the brewing process in order to make the wines produced brighter in color.
