According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Health, the use of antibiotics in hospitalized patients in China has reached 70%, which is twice that of Europe and the United States. The use of antibiotics for prophylaxis of surgical clean incisions is 95%, but less than 20% of patients actually require antibiotics, which means that 80% of patients do not need antibiotics.

Why 80% of patients do not need to use antibiotics, but antibiotics are still "excessive"? The abuse of antibiotics is a very serious fact in China. In fact, many doctors are aware of it. However, driven by interest, they still use antibiotics in large quantities, because some antibiotics are more profitable in clinical use.

According to the results of drug approvals issued last year by the Food and Drug Administration, the antibacterial drugs still account for 60% of the newly approved drugs. At present, there are more than 6,000 pharmaceutical factories in China, producing more than 1,000 varieties and tens of thousands of products for various antibacterial drugs. Obviously knowing that antibiotics have been "excessive", why do so many pharmaceutical companies still have to spend a lot of manpower and material resources to develop and produce antibiotics?

Because the profit of antibiotics is relatively high, pharmacies are happy to sell, and doctors favor prescribing; according to media reports, doctors prescribing unspoken rules, they are still common in many hospitals, and the highest rebates are in various drugs sold to hospitals. The antibiotics are to be counted. A doctor in the top three hospitals said frankly: “In major hospitals, the disadvantages of the drug-supporting system still exist, and doctors naturally tend to prescribe higher-priced antibiotics to patients.”

It is not difficult for us to find that antibiotics have already formed a chain of interests among pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and doctors. No matter who the "fat" comes to, everyone wants to bite it. This is also the reason why it is known that antibiotics have already been exceeded and that antibiotics have also been produced and used in large quantities. Therefore, to control the spread of antibiotics, we must cut this chain of interest.
