The recent continuous cold weather has adversely affected the production of cruciferous vegetable varieties. On March 23, the Chengdu Agricultural Technology Station visited the vegetable production bases in Jintang and Shuangliu, and found that different varieties of broccoli and cauliflower appeared early-flowering, hair-flowering, and purple-flowering in different degrees this year, and a few cabbages had convulsions. In particular, the incidence of spring flowers is large.
After investigating and analyzing, due to the higher temperature in the autumn last year than in previous years, the persistent cold weather after entering the winter is relatively long, which causes the early encounter of low temperature in the seedling stage of the spring cauliflower, which induces early differentiation of the flower bulb and the plant is very small in the vegetative body. When the ball is formed, early flowers appear; after the beginning of spring, the weather experiences high temperature and low temperature alternately, especially when the temperature of the bulb close to maturity drops sharply. Therefore, wool and purple flowers also occur. This phenomenon of early flowering, woolly flowering, and purple flowering was more serious in plants with earlier sowing time and weaker growth, and varieties with longer growth periods did not occur. A small number of early spring cabbages were also affected by abnormal weather conditions, resulting in premature bolting.
In response to the occurrence of the above phenomenon, combined with the recent climate features, the following management measures are proposed for the cauliflower, cabbage, and other crops of the cruciferous crops that are sensitive to climate change:
1. For the long growing period and sowing lately, there are no phenomena such as early flowering or lighter performance at present. It is necessary to strengthen field management, supply fertilizer and water in time, and ensure that the plants complete vegetative growth within a certain growth period.
2. Mature flower bulbs with hairs and purple flowers should be timely harvested to reduce losses.
3, combined with the actual and reasonable arrangements for the rear crops.
