Dairy cow roughage processing method

Short straw feeding cows often cut into 3 to 4 cm long grass segments, feeding the best. Daily intake increased by about 2% over hay. After comminution of the crushed straw and feeding with concentrate feed, the feed intake can be increased and the digestibility can be improved. Soak the shredded roughage or clams with water or soaked in 0.2% saline. After 24 hours, soften the quality. Mix with the mixture and bran to change the palatability and increase the feed intake. The alkaline treatment is to cut the straw into 3 to 4 cm, spray the 1.6% sodium hydroxide solution evenly on the straw, make it moist, put it aside for a few days, and take out the cow directly. The first method of calcification is to use 1% quick lime or 3% slaked milk to soak the straw. About every 10 to 10 kilograms of lime milk, 8 to 10 kilograms of straw can be soaked. After 12 to 24 hours, the cows are directly fed. The second is to take 100 kg of chopped straw, with 3 kg of quicklime or 4 kg of cooked lime mixed with 0.5 to 1 kg of salt and 200 to 250 kg of water, and mix well and place it on a flat surface or on a wooden board for 24 to 36 hours. Feed the cow directly. This method can not only loosen the structure of the fiber, but also increase the amount of calcium, so that the digestibility can be improved. Ammonia treatment is an anhydrous ammonia treatment: the moisture content of straw is adjusted to 30% to 40%, and a plastic pipe is added at a height of 0.5 m to pass ammonia. Grasshoppers are sealed with a 0.5 mm thick plastic film, and the time varies with the ambient temperature. The temperature is 2 to 4 weeks. Dried after opening and fed with ammonia disappeared. The second is ammonia treatment: when the short straw is piled in the pond (cellar), the 3% concentrated ammonia water is evenly sprayed into the pit in a ratio of 1:1 by weight of the straw. After the tank is filled, the membrane is covered and sealed. The sealing time is determined by the ambient temperature: less than 5°C for 8 weeks, 5 to 15°C for 4 to 8 weeks, 15 to 30°C for 1 to 4 weeks, and 30°C or more for 1 week. Then open the cellar and feed the straw dry. Ammoniated feed can increase the protein content of roughage by 4% to 6%, and increase the feed intake by 15% to 60% per head per day, which can increase the digestibility of straw organic matter. The disadvantage is the large amount of ammonia lost, and about 2/3 ammonia slip after opening the pit.
