Women who drink yogurt at least 5 times a week have a lower risk of developing hypertension.
AHA pointed out that high blood pressure can lead to arteriosclerosis in the population and increase the risk of cerebral hemorrhage and kidney disease. If left unchecked, high blood pressure can also cause stroke and blindness.
Previous studies have pointed out that dairy products can reduce the risk of high blood pressure in high-risk populations, but few long-term studies have suggested the impact of yogurt on people's risk of hypertension. Dr. Justin Buendia believes that this is by far the largest study to assess the effects of yogurt on blood.
National Dairy Board Buendia and colleagues used data from Phases 1 and 2 of the Nurses Health Study. Participants were 25-55 years old and were participants in the HPFS study. The researchers followed them for 18-30 years and found that 75,609 participants had hypertension.
After adjusting for other factors that may affect high blood pressure such as age, ethnicity, family history of hypertension, physical exercise, and diet, the researchers delved into the relationship between yogurt and hypertension in three groups.
They found that women who drank at least 5 cups of yogurt a week had a 20% lower risk of developing hypertension than women who drank a cup of yogurt a month. The relationship between men's yoghurt and risk of high blood pressure is not obvious. The researchers believe that this may be because men's intake of yogurt is much lower than that of women, but this does not mean that men's yoghurt has nothing to do with the risk of high blood pressure. .
Researchers delved into women's diets and found that diet is closely related to high blood pressure, and healthy eating can prevent people from suffering from high blood pressure, the DASH diet. The DASH diet is rich in fruits, vegetables, fat-free or low-fat milk and dairy products, cereals, fish, poultry, beans, seeds and nuts.
The results showed that women who drank a DASH diet or approached the DASH diet and who drank at least 5 cups of yogurt per week had a 31% lower risk of hypertension than women who did not use the DASH diet and consumed less yogurt.
The researchers also explored the link between other dairy products and high blood pressure. They found that daily intake of milk and cheese also reduced the risk of high blood pressure, but not as good as yogurt.
This strengthens your risk of lowering your risk of high blood pressure as long as yogurt is added to your diet.
Therefore, people can add yogurt to their daily diet plan, which not only reduces high blood pressure, but also gives you the ideal weight.
