Human genes introduced into rice

According to the British "Israeli" reported on the 24th, scientists will take a bold step: the introduction of human genes into rice. This move will certainly incur more intense criticism, and the dispute surrounding genetically modified foods will rise to a new height. Environmentalists claim that no one will eat this part of the food that is derived from human genes, because it is a bit like "eat people." Supporters say that introducing human genes into food crops will not bring any ethical and moral concerns, and it will also benefit the environment. In the first attempt to introduce human genes into food crops, Japanese researchers inserted genes from the human liver into rice genes to enable rice to digest pesticides and industrially produced chemicals. This new gene can produce enzymes code-named "CPY2B6", which are particularly good at breaking down harmful chemicals. Researchers at the Tsukuba National Institute of Soil Biology in northern Tokyo have found that this transgenic rice is immune to 13 herbicides after adding human genes to rice. Scientists supporting this technology say that the new genes may also help prevent pollution.
