Before operating the corn harvester, make sure the clutch of the working section engages smoothly. Gradually increase the throttle and only start the harvesting process once the engine reaches and maintains its rated speed. While working in the field, regularly inspect the quality of cutting and crushing. Adjust the header height as needed based on the crop conditions. Monitor the number of grains scattered on the ground to assess the performance of the picking mechanism. The grain loss should not exceed 0.5% of the total corn kernels harvested. If the loss is higher than expected, check the clearance between the picking plates to ensure it is properly adjusted.
It's important to periodically stop the machine for 1–2 minutes to let the working parts run empty, which helps clear any remaining corn ears, kernels, or debris. If the working parts become clogged, stop the machine immediately and clear the blockage. Failure to do so can lead to increased friction, overheating, and potential damage to internal components.
When turning or moving the harvester along the rows, raise the header to the transport position to avoid damage. While operating in the field, always move the harvester along the furrow or row direction to maintain efficiency and prevent unnecessary strain on the machine. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for safe operation and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the equipment.
