Corn Harvester Job Notes

Before operating the corn harvester, it's essential to ensure that the clutch of the working mechanism engages smoothly. As you gradually increase the throttle, wait until the engine reaches and maintains its rated speed before initiating the harvesting process. While working in the field, regularly inspect the quality of cutting and crushing, and adjust the header height as needed based on crop conditions. Monitor the number of grains scattered on the ground to assess the performance of the picking mechanism; grain loss should not exceed 0.5% of the total corn yield. If excessive loss is observed, check the clearance between the picking plates to ensure it is properly adjusted. It’s recommended to pause the harvester for 1–2 minutes periodically, allowing the working parts to run empty and clear any remaining corn ears, kernels, or debris. If the working components become clogged, stop the machine immediately to remove the blockage. Failure to do so may lead to increased friction, overheating, and potential damage to critical parts. When turning or moving the harvester along the rows, always lift the header to the transport position to prevent damage. While operating in the field, the harvester should only move along the furrows to maintain efficiency and avoid unnecessary strain on the machine. Additionally, make sure all safety features are engaged and that the operator remains alert at all times to ensure smooth and safe operation. Regular maintenance checks before and after each use will also help prolong the lifespan of the equipment and improve overall performance.
